Australia Overtakes Asia in Number of Bitcoin ATMs!

Since the beginning of 2023, Australia has been on the rise when it comes to the number of Bitcoin (BTC) ATMs. At the start of the year, it was reported in the Bitcoin news that Australia had surpassed “Bitcoin country” El Salvador, then fourth on the list, in terms of the number of Bitcoin ATMs.

Since then, the country has not let up on installing Bitcoin ATMs, as it can now be crowned the third country with the most Bitcoin ATMs.

More BTC ATMs than Asia

Only Canada and the United States currently have more of these types of ATMs than Australia. However, the difference is significant, as Australia has a total of 370 locations, far from the two superpowers with 2,725 and 29,009 locations, respectively. This data was obtained from CoinATMRadar.

Asia, which includes major economies such as China, Japan, Singapore, and India, has a total of 355 Bitcoin ATMs. This also represents 1% of the total number installed worldwide. The growth in Bitcoin ATMs in Australia has led it to surpass the entire continent of Asia in terms of these ATMs.

Australia is making significant progress in the adoption of Bitcoin, which is a positive trend for the cryptocurrency market. With more Bitcoin ATMs being installed, it’s becoming easier for people to access and use Bitcoin for everyday transactions. This is a testament to the growing interest in Bitcoin in Australia.

It will be interesting to see how this trend develops in the coming months and years, and whether other countries will follow Australia’s lead in the adoption of Bitcoin.
