Lucid Motors Aims to be the ‘Better Tesla’ with Powerful Electric Cars and Advanced Technology

Tesla may have made electric cars sexy with their sleek design and long range, but Lucid Motors is aiming to take it to the next level. The California-based brand, founded by former Tesla engineer Peter Rawlinson, is set to open its first Dutch sales location in Hilversum next week. While they may not say it outright, it’s clear that Lucid Motors aims to be the “better Tesla”, with Rawlinson’s Model S being the vehicle that put Tesla on the map and proved that electric cars have a future. The Lucid Air, the brand’s first model available in the Netherlands, goes above and beyond what Tesla has achieved with its electric drive. The luxury sedan has a horsepower of 1,111, able to go from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds. And there’s an even more powerful version coming next year, with over 1,200 horsepower. While this may appeal to those looking for the highest performing and most expensive cars, the question remains whether or not it’s responsible to allow drivers access to such powerful motors on the roads, even if the car is electric. But Lucid Motors isn’t just focusing on raw power, they also want to surpass Tesla in technology and quality. The Air boasts a range of over 1,000km on a single charge and features a luxurious interior with cutting-edge technology. And with Rawlinson’s background in electric vehicle development, it’s likely that the brand will continue to push the boundaries and set new standards in the industry. As the electric car market continues to grow and evolve, it will be interesting to see how Lucid Motors competes with Tesla and other established players
